Established in September 2009 by student volunteers, the Adelaide University United Nations Society (AUUNS) operates under the auspices of the Clubs Association of the University of Adelaide. The AUUNS, believing in the purposes and principles of the United Nations, aspires to encourage the community of the University of Adelaide towards a greater appreciation of global and local issues as well as a better understanding of the structure, function and future of the United Nations.
To this end, the AUUNS runs regular Mini Model United Nations (MUNs), social events and organises delegations to attend Model UN conferences (state, national and international level).
